Jacques is President of J Events, Ltd. a Chicago Based Event Meeting Planning & Destination Management Company providing its services to companies all over the world. Born in Holland he resides in the US since 1984 with dual nationality and has extensive background in the hospitality industry. In addition he is majority partner of Global Refractory Consultants, a payroll consultancy assisting foreign companies paying US employees residents working outside America. Jacques is a lover of Classic R&B, Soul, Jazz & Blues and has a large music library known as “the black & dead” collection. Andrew J. Enschedé
Andrew is an attorney and shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP in Chicago, Illinois. He is a dual-national Dutch-American who was born in The Netherlands and moved to the United States in 1986 to complete his studies. He returned to The Netherlands in 1990 on an exchange program with Leiden University and regularly works with Greenberg Traurig attorneys in Amsterdam on various transactional and risk management projects. He is experienced in all facets of U.S. civil litigation, regularly counsels companies concerning risk management needs and specializes in insurance coverage. He also represents numerous European companies that do business in the United States and is also on the board of certain companies. In his spare time, Andrew is an active amateur athlete – he has completed several triathlons, duathlons, the Chicago Marathon, plays soccer, ice hockey. He also is the President of The Netherlands Club of Chicago and has been instrumental in connection with revitalizing the website (www.dutchclubchicago.com) and designing and implementing an electronic newsletter. He is married and has two children.
Jan J.H. Joosten
Jan J.H. Joosten is a partner in the New York office of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP. Born in the Netherlands, he received a Master of Civil Law and a Master of Tax Law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands in 1991. He received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 1992. Jan Joosten specializes in corporate transactions, including capital markets transactions, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he has extensive experience in representing Dutch and other European companies that do business in the United States in a broad range of matters. He serves as a director of The Netherland-America Foundation, Leiden University Fund and Leiden University Fund (U.S.A.), Inc. He has lectured extensively on topics such as legal pitfalls for foreign companies doing business in the U.S., mergers and acquisitions in the U.S. by Dutch companies and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Jan Joosten is a member of the New York bar. He enjoys biking, rollerblading and downhill skiing.
Herbert Wennink
Herbert Wennink is the Commercial Officer of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chicago. In this role he promotes and identifies business opportunities for Dutch exporters of goods & services to the Midwest. Before joining the consulate in 2004, Herbert represented European logistics companies in the U.S. Although he moved to Chicago for “one year” after school in 1980, he decided to stay. Married with a 2 year-old daughter, he enjoys fixing up his old house and riding his bicycle and motorcycle in his spare time. |
